Ceramic Brick – Room installation at barber’s Pforzheim, DE.
Comprised of 81 single pieces.
The brick, as one of the most basic building forms, has an immense importance in both its physical and symbolic manners. In this series of work, the brick plays a prominent roll in expressing a reaction to city and urban surroundings. The individual elements created in clay, frame the form of the brick. The inner lines capture the once formal edges of the brick while contrasting with a new edge, a soft animated edge of finger prints. These singular pieces present a playground of variation possibilities. For the installation at barber’s Pforzheim, the walls offered an exciting canvas to compose a conversation between the cubist inner architecture and organization of the brick elements.
